As of October 13, 2020, the Griffith Observatory is temporarily closed due to COVID-19, however, the Griffith Park surrounding the Observatory is open to guests.
Hours of Operation: Weekdays: noon - 10 pm
Weekends: 10am - 10pm

If you only have 1 hour, don't worry this is the perfect amount of time to enjoy the Griffith Observatory.
Since the Observatory's parking is $15/hr, you will have enough time to relax and have an enjoyable picnic on the grass that surrounds the Observatory.

This is the perfect amount of time to stroll or hike along the many trails that crisscross Griffith Park.
An important tip to remember when hiking in the midday heat is to bring A LOT of water. There is not much shade on any of the trails so make sure to be prepared.

Amir's Garden Trail - 1.1 miles (38 min.)
