Choose a Day - San Diego

This is the start of a Choose a Day series that will encompass many more cities beyond my hometown of San Diego. As these future posts are created I will link them to each other so that my readers (you!) have easy access to the entire portfolio.

All of the "Days" encompass a wide range of activities, places, landmarks, and interests and I hope there is something for everyone!

America's finest city, or as I like to call it home, is a location that visitors praise for its sunny skies and blue waves. And this is praise that San Diego consistently lives up to and exceeds. However, there is more to this beach town turned city than its supposedly endless summer. Not sure what you are looking for when visiting San Diego? Choose a day and organize a unique adventure that will create lifelong memories!

Inspired by the dish that is frequently seen in restaurants throughout San Diego, spend a day exploring the ocean and the land through some fantastic activities.

Explore the La Jolla Caves with LA JOLLA BIKE AND KAYAK

The La Jolla Caves are a local favorite but in order to truly experience their grandeur, you need to become a tourist. The best way to get an up-close and exhilarating trip through a cave that has been carved out of the cliffs is by joining a Kayak the 7 Caves tour with LA JOLLA BIKE AND KAYAK. **This is the only way you are allowed within the caves - rentals are not allowed inside**

Relax with Wine at San Diego's Oldest Winery - BERNARDO WINERY

After spending the morning exploring the watery world from above, it's time for a 21+ dinner. Bernardo Winery delivers a wine tasting experience that was started all the way back in 1889. The winery is a common location for weddings and thus is a gorgeous place for taking pictures!

Although San Diego is sometimes overshadowed by its glitzy neighbor to the North, it is still able to make claims that some of Hollywood's biggest stars such as Marilyn Monroe spent time in sunny San Diego.

Relax at the Hotel Del Coronado

Marilyn, in particular, filmed a movie called Some Like it Hot at the iconic Hotel Del Coronado that is still considered to be one of the greatest comedy movies created. This hotel, built-in 1888 and the second largest wooden building in the US can be a perfect location for visitors looking for a glamourous beach stay at a California Historical Landmark.

No before anyone remarks on how this is a post about San Diego not Los Angeles, hear me out. LA is an amazing place to visit and there are many great things to do, places to visit, and people to see but as I mentioned before I am biased. San Diego is the perfect location to see a snippet of LA and not have to deal with outrageous traffic.

Treat yourself to a Waffle Croissant at MADE Coffee

On the drive up to LA, make sure to stop and check out MADE Coffee in Fullerton for some amazing brews as well as a waffle croissant (!!) which was delicious and photogenic.

Picnic at the Griffith Observatory

Want to see the Hollywood sign and have a beautiful picnic in the sun surrounded by nature in one of the biggest metropolitan cities? Head to Griffith Park and dine on sandwiches in front of the Griffith Observatory. **Check out my Quick Guide to Griffith Observatory for more information**

So here are 3 days to choose from when planning your adventure to San Diego. As mentioned before this will be a series that I hope to continue throughout my future travels so let me know in the comments so amazing places I should visit!

**This is a guide only and there might be costs and other requirements associated with the activities listed above. Please take the time to contact the companies and create a detailed itinerary that meets your schedule**
